Trying to find Emby

Robert

Robert Report 14 Feb 2004 15:22

My name is Robert William Emby. My father is Brian Edward Frederick Emby and his father was Rueben William Emby who died in 1942 in a Japanese prisoner of war camp aged 38 during WWII. Rueben's wife was Stella (nee Davis, my grandmother). I am trying to research the Emby history from my great grandfather backwards. He was Frederick James Emby married to Agnes (nee Mayes), Rueben's father. Rueben had five siblings: Maud, Dorothy, Charles Henry, Robert and Dolly. Frederick James Emby was a RSM in the Boer War. Frederick was based in India where he met and married Agnes. They were based in Ireland, Derry?, where Rueben was born. Agnes returned to live in Maidstone, Kent, later in life I think after Frederick died. ADDED MARCH 2004 re above message. You grandfather Robert is my grandfather Rueben's brother. I have been in contact with Bernard Emby and his wife Shirley. His father Charles was brother to Rueben and Robert. Incidentally there were six siblings: Maud, Frederick, Dorothy (Dolly?), Rueben, Robert and Charles. We are in contact with Maud's family in Canada. Please contact us at rwe123456 at aol dot--- com--- (replace at, dot--- and com--- etc. with the usual symbols as they're not allowing e mail addresses to be typed properly). Our families are definately related as we have the same Captain Cook legend!
