Grant Report 18 Feb 2004 12:33

Hi there, I am researching my Carmichael ancestors from Tarbert, Loch Fyne, Argyllshire, Scotland and am looking for anyone who might be researching Carmichaels form Tarbert as well. My main interest at the moment is the descendants of Malcolm Carmichael(abt. 1780-1874) and Elisabeth Macfarlane(1773-1843). Malcolm had a son called Archibald Carmichael (1796-1843) who married an Elisabeth MacMillan(abt. 1802-1875). Archibald married Elisabeth on the 16 Feb. 1822 in the parish of Kilcalmonell and Kilberry, Tarbert, Loch Fyne. They had a large family of ten children. Archibald was a Fisherman/Farmer. His children were born between 1823 and 1843. Archibald farmed at various locations between 1822-1843. He was at Auchois, Mealldarrach, and Bruchnasuch, during thses years. His children's names in order of birth were Angus 1823, Jannet 1826, Malcolm 1827, Janet 1829, Elisabeth 1830, Mary 1833, Catherine 1835, Effy 1837, Euphemia 1840, Janet 1843. If anyone mentioned here strikes a chord with anyone doing some research in this area please feel free to get in touch. Grant Muckart Nairn Scotland
