I am trying to trace my mothers sister who may have been called Lillie Saunders. My mother, Violet, and her three other sisters Rose, Ivy and Josie were born between 1920 and 1927 approx. Their parents were Elizabeth and Joseph Gregory and they lived at the time in Canning Town, London. Joseph died as Lillie was born and Elizabeth, unable to support another child, had lillie adopted. She was adopted by Mr & Mrs Saunders of Canning Town. I understand if Lillie does not want contact, but my mum is visiting this year from Australia and she's 81. It is a wonderful opportunity for the 4 sisters to get together but an even greater opportunity if these 4 women could meet and get to know this sister that they've never known. |
