Trying to find Smith

Carroll Report 19 Feb 2004 23:20

Carroll Shanks (nee Smith I was born in February 1946 and I'm looking to find details of my uncle Alex Smith who I know was in the police for many years and was the man in the police poster 'Your Country Needs You' or words to that effect. He would be in his late eighties and he and his wife, I think her name was Philomena, emigrated to Australia many years ago. His father (Alexander) and his mother Jane Ogg lived latterly in Arbroath where my grandfather and my father (Bill now deceased) ran the taxi business in the 40's. My Mom, Nora and father were divorced in the early 50's and sadly lost all contact with that side of the family. Any information would be gladly received. Thank you.
