Trying to find Thompson

I am trying to trace the Thompson's in my Dad's family. The information that I have comes from the 1901 census when they were living at 8 South Street, Newbottle, in the Houghton-le-Spring area of County Durham. My Great Grandparents were John and Mary Thompson. John was born in Ireland, and Mary in Houghton-le-Spring. Any information which would pinpoint where in Ireland, Mary's maiden name or where/when they were married would be a great help. My Grandad was Charles Herbert Thompson born 31.10.1888. He had two older brothers Fred born c1881 and George Earnest Thompson born 1883 (known as Uncle Ernie). John, Fred and 'Uncle Ernie' were all miners, but my Granddad did not want to go down the pit, and so moved to London where he worked as a buyer for a timber company. 'Uncle Ernie' was also a local councilor in the Houghton-le-Spring or Fence Houses area, and was married to Aunty Floss (Florence). They had two girls Gladys and Jenny. Jenny married the farmer Tom Bain and together they ran a farm at Cold Heseldon were I can remember the most wonderful days out playing in the farm yard. I expect the Seaham by-pass runs through it now! My Granddad married Florence Mather Fricker in London. She had one daughter Myra from a previous marriage, and together they had two sons Charles Frederick (my Dad) and Donald Ernest (my Uncle). If anyone has any information about this family I would love to hear from them. Thank You, Patsy Beech
