I am currently researching my friends family tree.In this family tree is a John Hughes who in the 1901 census states his place of birth as longton staff and being 37 therefore he was born c1865. I have a John Hughes in the 1881 census at 32 Park Road Stoke upon trent and he is the son of Mary Hughes (widow) he is 16 and his given proffession is potter. If this isn't 'our' John I would love to know as I find researching Hughes very frustratind! This gentleman went on to 'marry' an Ann Ruscoe and came to live in the Barrow-in-Furness and Millom area. Any help would be gratefully accepted as I'm going to give up shortly!!!!(going to be a grandma to twins!!!!!)In this same family were a Sarah J, Thomas, Susanah, Rachel, Alice and William. Thankyou Janice Morsby |
