My Gt Gt Granfather Thomas Chapman came from Suffolk. On 1881 Census say's he came from Stragle, Suffolk. On 1891 Census Census it says he came From Stag Hill, Suffolk. Does any one know of these places. I think it may be Stradishall?. He Was born about 1814/15. Also Looking For the Family Of My Grandads first Daughter Hettie Chapman Born Sheffield 8th May 1911, Her Mother Ettie Stevenson Born 1885 in Barlow, Derbys died 9th May 1911 a Day afetr Giving Birth To Hettie. (My Grandads Name was Joseph Chapman). Hettie Is believed to have gone to live with her Mothers Parents Who where called Herbert & Elizabeth Stevenson possibly in Barlow the Chesterfield Area. I would love to make contact with any of Hetties family as I promised my Dad before He died that I would try and find his Half Sisters family. Also Thomas Chapman's Daughter Ann married 2 German's the first one George Glathorn, they lived in Preston, When George Died she remaaried Leonard Dimler (Pork Butcher) in Blackburn then went to live in Walton Liverpool where they had a Butchers Shop. They must have gone to Germany before the war because I was told she was deported back during the war. I don't know if this is true, but I would Love to Find out.
