Trying to find Ludford family of 11 children, born worldwide in mid to late 1800s. Especially, James, born India July 10th 1878, occupation soldier, Royal Artillery and later 9th Royal Lancers in WW1. Possibly later 1940s, became a publican. Son James born Woolwich/farnham, December 1901. A daughter Mary Ann, born Londonderry, probably more children followed. Any info on Joseph Harley Ludford also welcome. I have a great deal of information on other Ludford family members. Please get in touch, even if you think you are not related, I may be able to help from my notes and family contacts. All ludfords information welcome.

My great grandmother,Agnes Sarah Ludford, born 26 Jan 1857, in Birmingham, England, was the daughter of Robert & Elizabeth Ludford. They had quite a few children. It's said that Agnes was teaching English to some children in France and became very lonesome so she came to the USA to be with her brothers. In 1890 she married Maurice Wiedelman in Chicago. They had 3 children, Robert, Marie (who went by Sophie and was my grandmother) & Ralph, who was killed by a train at age 23. That is pretty much what I know about this family, except of course the descendents of Agnes. If you have any knowledge of this family I'd be very interested. Thank you.
