Trying to find Taylor

Shillingford Report 25 Jul 2004 19:16

I am trying to find any information on a Henry Taylor, born Wroxton Near Banbury, Oxfordshire. There were two Henry Taylor's born in Wroxton in 1850, The Henry that I'm seeking knowledge of was born 6/6/1850 Wroxton, to Charles & Hannah (Dale) Taylor. He married Eliza Beales October 16th 1872. 1881 Census shows them in Deddington, Oxon. Eliza as a Servant, Henry as a Groom. Eliza died 25/5/1883, aged 30years, whilst visiting in Wroxton. Sudden death through Disease of Heart. 1891 census shows a Henry in Deddington, age matches. I could only view part of Information Wroxton as place of birth and age only. Unable to find him on the 1901 census. My father, when he was alive, said he lived in Redhill. Reigate, Surrey. Unconfirmed information. He had a Nephew Albert Ernest Taylor born, Banbury 13/3/1881 and wife Sarah, who owned a grocers shop in Redhill. St. John Area. Albert married at St. John church, Redhill. 1907 & died 1969. Henry must have settled there between these years. Can anyone remember the Taylor's Grocers shop? Redstone Rd, thro' Alleyway and shop was opposite. Perhaps Henry worked for him? Clutching at straws here but, forever the optimist. I would love to hear from anyone who can recall anything of the above. Many thank's & best wishes. Thelma Shillingford. (Taylor)
