Looking for information on CHARLES FREDERICK SMITH, born c.1898 to father JOHN JAMES SMITH. Have not been able to find his mother's name or birth certificate. Charles married Kathleen Barnes in 1919 and his father was deceased by then. Together they had four children: Kathleen Margaret (died aged 2), Charles, Joan and Eileen. Charles moved to BRADFORD c.1926 (known as 'COCKNEY CHARLES/CHAS') and died there in 1961 at THE PARK, ROOLEY LANE. Used to frequent the CRAVEN HEIFER pub in MANCHESTER ROAD and lodged in Mayo Avenue during WW2. He was an Army Stores Assistant/Clerk Storeman, TERRITORIAL ARMY (retired) at the time of his death and fought in WWI; he was a 'demobilized soldier' at the time of his marriage. An extremely long shot - but any help out there? Thanks for looking!
