SEARCHING FOR GALLIGAN hello, my name is cindy oneill and my dad, terence oneill and myself are trying to find his half sister whom unfortunately, we dont have a name for! my dad was (not legally) adopted at 7 weeks old by the oneill family in portobello, edinburgh, his name on his birth certificate was william galligan and his birth mother was a lady called mary galligan who already had a daughter who we think was about 2 at the time of my dads birth. sadly mary galligan is deceased, we believe she passed away when she was 34 - my dad is now 63, we're not sure what age mary was when she gave birth to him and we're guessing the lady who we're now searching for, mary galligans daughter, must be about 65. the last address we knew of mary galligan staying at was at uphall, broxburn. my dads adoptive mothers name was mary oneill and he was brought up in wellington street (now marlborough street) in portobello, edinburgh and he was baptized at st johns church in portobello. any information would be really helpful, although my dad had a very happy life with his adoptive family, apart from my sister and i he has never known any other blood relatives and it would be fabulous if we could make contact with this lady, his half-sister - she possibly doesnt even know she has this younger brother. thank you |
