Please help, I am trying to trace my family tree on my mothers side, (Hughes) My mother was margaret (known as Peggy) hughes, her siblings were John, Tom, Jimmy, John, Eddie, Kitty, Rita, Mary, Veronica, and Betty, There parent's (my grandparents) were John Hughes, and Mary Freeman, I would love to find out who my grandparents siblings were, all I know so far, is that my grandfathers younger brother was Tom Hughes, who played football for Newcastle United, but he died in the 1st world war,and he was on the roll of honour at newcastle station,Grandad collapsed and died in the dawdon pit in about 1947, can anyone tell me anything about my grandparents, Mary and John's sibling's, or about who my great grandparents were, I will be glad of any information, I belive there is also a conection to the Tyne Docks area, and a connection to the name Halfpenny, though I dont yet know what, Many thanks Maggie Eaton, nee Knowles
