Hi can anyone help. While finding info on my mother in law l found she had been given the Royal Humane Award for saving a boys life in the River Medway at Tovil in Maidstone. The boys name was Albert Smith he was 7 years old in 1936 and lived at 11 Hart Street Maidstone Kent. He was rescued by Joyce Head age 12 of 75 Union Street Maidstone Kent. It is stated that he was her nephew but the family have no memories of any Smiths as all the older members of family have passed on. If he was her nephew then this would mean that he came from her mothers previous marriage side and no one knows of these children. Albert Smith would be in his late 70's now and we would like very much to contact him as my husband is Joyce Heads son. If anyone can give us any info on Albert we would be very grateful, many thanks Sue. |
