Hi James I have Smith ancestry and my oral tradition has it that the wife of Lord Birkenhead was a relative of mine and was supposed to be of gypsy ancestry . However I havent looked far enougth on that side .I believe his wifes name was eleanor and my mother was suposed to have been named after her . Lord Birkenheads wife was supposed to have worked in a circus and my grandfather also worked in a circus so there most probably is something in it .here are books writen by lady elanors daughter who used to write about gypsies and it was questioned whether or not she was a gypsy .
