Im trying to find as much as possible about my Farrance roots. At the moment I looking for anyone who may be related to my great great grandfather, George Farrance. he had at least one brother, Alfred. Goerge was married to Lucy and they had at least 3 boys, George Harvey- born june 1889, surrey, Walter James- born Sept 1894, surrey and William (willie)sydney- born 1896, surrey. William Sydney Farrance was my great grandfather. all the above were living in Croydon when the 1901 census was taken. I think George may have been born in Hartest, suffolk, around 1863

As a Farrance (Somerset) I have gathered an index of births marriage and deaths of the family and family trees as well. I also found a George born 1862, a brother Alfred born 1860 -married to a Agnes Maxim and two sisters Elizabeth born 1869 and Emma born 1873. All from Hartest so you might be right. They were the children of James 1822-1906 and Susan 1812-1898. A brother of theirs Thomas Walter born 1858 went to Yorkshire and joined the Yorkshire Regiment and it was from his descendent I got a lot of info on the family. In the 1881 census the family was living on Charity Farm,Hartest.
