Hi I am having great difficulty trying to trace my great grandparents, James Smith & Rose (nee Johnson). I have not found them on the 1881 or 1901 census, possibly because they may have been travellers. They are alledged to have had a large family of 22 children. Some of their names were, Gemima, Letitia, Lematia, Prudence, Moses and Lavinia my grandmother. Lavinia was born 9/7/1898 in Chigwell Row Essex and married my grandfather Alfred Thomas Gould in Epping Essex on 15/3/1915. I know that Gemima was living in Walthamstow in the 1950s and that Prudence had a tea shop near Epping also in the 1950s. If anyone has any information please get in touch. Many thanks |
