I am trying to trace the descendants of Eugene Owen Smith and Selina Naylor, who married in Bilston, Staffordshire in 1858. Owen was a police sergeant, and their six children were born in the Wolverhampton /Stafford area. It was a Catholic family. The children are Elizabeth, born 1859, a dressmaker; John Thomas, born 1861, an iron shingler; Eugene Samuel, born 1862, a draper; Joseph Henry, born 1864, another iron shingler; Agnes, born 1870; and Francis Clement, my grandfather, born 1874, a soldier in the North Staffordshires and then jack-of-all-trades. Owen originally came over to Staffordshire from Ireland, and seems to have had a brother, John Smith, married to Harriett, in the Bilston area.
