my ancestor is Jane Anne king 1872-1924 she married a john shaw wood. Her parents are thomas king C1841 and anne whalley C1841. Her parents were born in or around lancaster before moving to oldham. The majority of the kids settled in oldham and thomas and anne ran a pub in 1901 when they were both 60. The pub was on huddersfield road??They had 9 children and i'm sure there must have been other kings related to thomas in the area it's just finding them!! Some of the kids are anthony king born c1865 married margaret. They had fred, lilly and tom in the 1901 census and they lived at 7 plymouth street, working in the mills. thomas and annes other kids include james, william, mary, elizabeth, thomas hy,ruth and ellen thanks for reading all this maybe you recognise someone here. |
