Member Since: September 2004 Posts: 0 Send Message	I am looking for information about the family of my great-grandfather Griffith Ellis Williams of Dolgellau/Dolgelly Merioneth Wales, born 1874. He studied medicine and worked at St Guys Hospital in London until moving to Australia c1912. There he married swimmer Beatrice Kerr, who had been staging exhibition swims in the UK, and founded the Australian branch of the family. His father was Ellis Williams (tailor 1845-1922) & mother Hannah Maria Jones was from Coniston Lancs/Cumbria. I am looking for details of their ancestors, and descendents of their children Ann, Jane Hannah, Ellis Richard and Meriah/Maria Sydney/Sidnie. * In 1901 Jane (Williams) was possibly working in Harpendon, Hertfordshire as a parlour-maid. (census information) * Ellis Richard Williams was living in Wood Green N22 at the time of his father's death in 1922. * Maria (died 1945) married Benjamin Lincoln Brain in 1906 and had at least two children, sons Reeve Merion Brain (1907-1985) and Ellis Alfred Sullivan Brain (1920-2000).
