Trying to find Smith

Help please! I've not long been investigating my tree and I'm trying to trace the Smith branch and it's a nightmare! Mr grandmother is Gwendoline Smith born 1913, she has 2 younger sisters Joan and Marian. Her parents were Arthur H Smith born 1884 who married Jane Liddiard. Arthur had brothers and sisters called Florence Sarah b 1886, William Ernest b 1887, Leonard B b 1888, Mabel b 1892, Charles b 1893 and Dolly b 1897, all in Reading. Arthur's father was called Thomas Henry, or Henry Thomas Smith (not only a Smith but he used 2 names!) born 1860, and his mother was called Sarah M, but I haven't been able to find a record of marriage or her maiden name. Henry Thomas had brothers and sisters called Elisa A b 1857, William M b 1861, Samuel J b 1864, Rosina E b 1865, Ernest H b 1867 and Catherine M b 1869. Again all born in Reading. Their mother was called Emily b 1831 (no maiden name found yet) widowed approx 1870 but I haven't got a christian name for their father, he did have a sister called Eliza b 1834. Any help greatly appreciated, this Smith business is hard work! Regards Carolyn |
