Newcastle Upon Tyne - trying to trace descendants of two brothers DAVID and ROBERT SMITH who moved down from Scotland. David was married in Scotland to ANNIE McDONALD and they had 7 children I know of - Joanna, Maggie, Mary, Alexander, David, James (my father) and Kate. Robert married an ANN RIBCHESTER in Newcastle and had 4 children by the 1901 census - Joan, Archibald, Thomas and Kenneth. My father James married Agnes Campbell in Scotland but they returned to live in Tynemouth. He died in 1936 when I was 4 and my mother returned to Scotland. She had no contact with my father's family. I would dearly love to contact any of his relations. |
