I am looking for anyone that may have any info on my gggrandfather, Joseph Carr born 1838. He married Eliza Eleanor Taylor (born 1842) on 22/2/1859 at St John the Baptist Church Shoreditch. Both were French Polishers as were most of their sons. Their children were John Joseph b. 1862, my ggrandfather, Joseph b 1866, George b 1868, Henry b 1871, Arthur b 1872, Eleanor b 1880 Albert b 1883. All were born in and around Bethnal Green, and lived mostly in Ranwell Street. John Joseph married Annie Blair Athol Page at The Parish Church of St Jude, Bethnal Green on 28/10/1884. Annie was born 27/5/1864. Her father was a publican, deceased at the time of her marriage. Together they had six children to my knowledge, although some of the names that I have been given differ from the ones that I have managed to get from a 1891 census. The eldest, Annie Rosina b 13/7/1885 was my grandmother. Michael, Jack and William, may not be correct, there could be Arthur, Harry and Alfred. others were George and Sarah. I do know that Sarah became Mrs. Human, and that her yougest son, Freddie, who died recently,(2004) was rought up by my grandparents. Annie Rosina married Thomas henry Simpson. They had three children, Annie Clara Elizabeth, Ada Eleanor, my mother, and Edith Alice. Tiny Carr was a wrestling Referee in England and also lived in London. I believe he was a cousin of my grandmother, but I do not know his given name. When I lived in England I met him, but I have mislaid a letter that he sent me with his home address on it, so I have lost all touch with his side of the family. Maybe there is someone out there that can help me to continue my search. I now live in Australia. Margaret Allen |
