JONES OF WORCESTERSHIRE My Jones ancestors mainly hail from Worcestershire. RICHARD JONES b.1815 Worcs to JOHN and ANN JONES. I know nothing of Richards siblings. Richard married APPOLONIA BIRCH and they had some 10 children George, William, Walter, Eliza, Richard [died in infancy] another Richard, Matilda, Ann, Charles [died in infancy] and finaly my gt grandfather Charles Henry b 1860. All children were born between 1842 and 1860 in Great Malvern Worcestershire. Richard jr settled in Kidderminster and one of his sons became headmaster of a boys grammar school there. Matilda settled in Birmingham as a shopkeeper but remained a spinster. Charles Henry married SARAH ASHWORTH 1883 and also settled in Birmingham as a blacksmith and produced three children one of which was my grandfather Frederick b.1890. Would love to know of the other children born to Richard or indeed Richards siblings. If any of this sounds familiar please get in touch so we can compare notes. Thanks, Jackie |
