Trying to find Hall

I am hunting for infomation about LUCY ETHEL HALL also known as Lloyd-Hall. She had an illegitimate daughter in 1903, born in Chelsea, London and named Mary Kathleen Agnes. The father's name was Edward Barry - an army officer who was married. She had no contact with the child who was raised in an orphanage. Unusually for an illegitimacy I have plenty of information about the father but none about the mother apart from her name. I cannot trace Lucy Ethel anywhere. I don't know if Hall was her maiden name or if she was married. And where did the Lloyd come from? The records from the orphanage give the mother's surname as (Lloyd)Hall. The child's birth was registered by Lucy Ethel giving her surname and that of the child as Hall, but the child was known as Lloyd-Hall. Any information or suggestions would be very welcome. Lucy Ethel was my grandmother. |
