Ann,

I am not responding as a descendant of the line you list but as an interested party!

I have Emmotts in my ancestry. My great grandfather John Clark m. Sarah Catherine Emmott in Osmotherley, North Yorks in 1857. She had a brother James b. 1838 and sister Mary 1840. All the siblings were born at Bishop Middleham, Co Durham.

I have traced the father Christopher back from Beech Hill, Ellerbeck at 1851 census, Bishop Middleham at 1841 census and his 1835 marriage in East Cowton to Mary Todd.

He was however born 1814 at Somers Town, London ( situated between Euston & St Pancras railway stations) and I am curious about the Durham & Yorkshire migration. Do you know of any link between your Emmotts & mine?

I have just discovered that when my 2x great uncle James EMMOTT died in 1882 he left a wife and three children. I would love to be in contact with anyone who is descended from Harry (or Henry) Bernard EMMOTT(b 1889 Addingham) later lived in Silsden with wife Annie nee HILL and children Charles EMMOTT(b 1892 Addingham) later lived in Silsden. Wife Ellen nee FOSTER and son Geoffrey Mabel Jane EMMOTT(b 1890 Addingham) later lived in Silsden and married Albert LOMGBOTTOM Ann EMMOTT(b 1870, Silsden) living in Kildwick in 1881, married Enock P TILLOTSON 1890 John Blakey EMMOTT (b 1877 Silsden).
