Trying to find Smith

I am trying to find where my Great-Grandfather was during the 1901 census. Frederick Curtis Cecil Smith was born 27th July 1876 in Great Yarmouth, and married Lilian Elizabeth Bowery in King's Lynn on 2nd September 1910. I have been told by close family that he worked on Clipper Ships, but where and for who I have no idea. He was listed in the 1891 census as still living in Great Yarmouth and working as a lad in a foundry. He presented a family bible to his mother (Louisa Smith nee Lamb) in King's Lynn in 1903 but I have no idea as to what happened to him in those 12 years. Can anyone help?? Ruth Kerrison
