I have been trying to find my great grandfather Arthur Chapman for some time but with no joy. He was born in Spaldwick, Huntingdonshire abt 1869. His parents were William and Mary and he had siblings Robert, William, Frank, Albert, Emily and Walter. I have found burial recorded in 1925 in Spaldwick and marriage recorded but no birth/baptism and can get no further back beyond this knowledge He married Alice Barrett abt 1908. They had children Mary (b 1902), Mabel (b 1911) Arthur Reginald known as Reg, and William (Bill) b 1914. Mary married Robert Doughty and settled in Thorney, Cambs area (my grandparents), Mabel married Bill cave and lived Newborough, Peterborough, Reg married Nell and lived Ringstead, William married Elizabeth Clapham and lived Thorney. As far as I know most of Arthur's siblings lived Spaldwick after marriage with exception of of William who moved to Loughborough I have tried parish records with no success for any of the Chapman family in Arthurs generation. Please any assistance on where else to look or detail on the family would be really welcome Here's hoping! Jane James |
