My name is Patricia nee Edwards. I am looking for information for my paternal family tree. My father was FRANK Edwards baptised at the Holy Trinity Church, Aston, Birmingham, date of birth given as 10th April 1904. He married Marion Bent in 1925. His father's name was WILLIAM (HENRY) Edwards and his mother Mary Ann and they lived in Sampson Street, Bordesley, Birmingham. We think Mary Ann died when my father was about 11. William was stated as being a 'cabinet maker'. We believe that he was born around 1870. I have a brother Frank, who being older than me, remembers a brother or half brother of my father named GEORGE Edwards, who had a radio shop near ACOCKS GREEN Railway Station, Birmingham around 1939 with his name over the top. We also believe there was another half brother William or BILLIE who had blond curly hair!!! Memory says living near the Birmingham City Ground about 1938. There was also an ELSIE who may have been married to either of these brothers. There appears to have been a big falling out leaving my father isolated and he never talked about his family. Hence without a birth certificate for my father, we are struggling. Can any body help please? |
