George Taylor MUTTON (listed simply as Full Age with no age or birth year) - Marriage certificate to Jane HOLNESS (daughter of Richard HOLNESS) in Blean, Kent, England on 4 JUL 1874, lists, as his father, George TAYLOR. This supports the family story of my Grandmother who tells that her name should have been TAYLOR except that her grandfather was adopted by the MUTTON family. I've not found any further data to substantiate that this is correct in that the son is George Taylor MUTTON....so I wonder if the registrar just simply mis-wrote the entry leaving off the MUTTON --- or is the story true? Any TAYLORs or MUTTONs out there who might have some information to help me? |
