I was born in St. Mary Islington Hospital, London on the 3rd June 1940 and placed with adoptive parents when I was about 6 weeks old. I was officially adopted in 1941 and became Rosemary Ann Thomas. My birth name was ROSE ANN COOK. I am trying to trace anyone related to my birth mother, HELEN COOK (maiden name). Helen was around 21 years old in 1940 and was living in Camden Road, Islington, London. Her occupation at this time was a Florists assistant. Father's name is not on my original birth certificate. I believe that she possibly only stayed at this address for the purpose to have me and then left the area. If anyone has any records of a HELEN COOK (maiden name) who was about 21 in 1940 I would be very pleased to hear from you. I appreciate that Helen may have gone on to get married and so her surname would be different as Cook is her maiden name. Many thanks for your time...Rosemary Jackson |
