Trying to find descendants of Boomer family who came over from Donaghadee/Newtonards/Belfast areas of Northern Ireland to settle in Barrow-in-Furness,Lancashire c1870s.These included James,William,Henry,Alexander,Agnes,Jane(nee Mawhinney) There are a lot of links with this area & the farrier/blacksmith trades. There were POSSIBLY other members of Boomer & Mawhinney families that came over at same time or even later. These families spread & went to Stoke-on-Trent,Canada,America,New Zealand & Australia amongst others.I would love to hear from anyone with links / connections. At present I am back to approx. 1800 in Northern Ireland but believe family originated in FRANCE and were driven out due to religion. |
