WILLIAM SMITH Trying to locate any information on my gr grandfather - William Smith (b abt 1859) m Harriet Aulton or Halton (b abt 1859) - spelling uncertain - in the early 1870's. I think they had 6 children in all, including Herbert b 1888 at Birmingham, who is my grandfather. Herbert's siblings were all girls. Herbert moved to Australia in 1912 and married Margaret (Daisy) Ethel Lear or Leary who came out as a passenger on the 'Geelong' in 1912. I don't know if any of his siblings came out to Australia. Herbert and Daisy had 3 sons, Herbert Jnr b 1915, Warwick b 1920 (my father) and Douglas b 1923 Warwick is the only surviving member of his family in Australia, as far as we know, and I would love to be able to surprise him with some information on his family, as he is 84yrs old now. Have hit quite a few brick walls, so any information would be greatly appreciated. Sally Ryan
