I am looking for descendants of Edward Unsworth Green, born Worcester 1849, died 1943. He was a wine merchant in Richmond, Surrey for many years from 1870s. His wife was Annie Louisa nee Reid and they had 11 children, 7 boys & 4 girls. All the children were given the second name, Unsworth. At least 5 sons were in the army in 1st WW, Linley, Edward, Vivian, Aubrey & Reginald. Edward, Vivian & Reginald were killed in the fighting. Linley was an army chaplain. The family had been wine merchants in Worcester since at least the early 1800s. An earlier Edward Unsworth Green was born in Worcester in 1792 and died there in 1845. His parents were Edward Green(1753-1842) and Alice Unsworth(b.1766, Childwall, Lancs, d.1840, Worcester). He married Sarah Parker Gaskell(1795-186?) in Liverpool in 1814. He had at least 8 children, including Ellen, Robert, Edward (father of the later Edward U G), Edith, Valentine, Walter & Miriam. I am descended from Walter through my paternal grandmother. I have a Green tree back to 1752. I'd be very interested to hear from anyone related to this Green family. |
