Jane Watts (nee Ward) here. Trying to trace any relatives of my late father JOSEPH CHARLES WARD- DOB 22/10/1919. He had 3 brothers, Donald, Arthur & Harry. His fathers name was Arthur Frances Ward and my father always said he had twin sisters but we have no details of them as they died at a young age. The 4 boys were orphans at a young age and lived in Valetta Rd, Shepherds Bush with foster parents. They went to a school/orphanage in Cuckoo Hill, Brentford. They all went on to serve in WW2. My father was in the Royal Buffs,Queens own regiment. Their father was called Daniel Walter Ward and mother was Elizabeth Ann Meakings. Any details of the Ward orMeakings family would be gratefully received as I have nothing much to go on. I do know that Donald Ward is still alive and I have contacted him. The other 2 brothers have died. Thanks for your help. |
