Hi I'm trying to help a friend find her family. Her name is Margaret and she was born 21 April 1931 and adopted in 1931 and taken to live in Weaverham, Cheshire. The superintendent registrar was A J JAmeson of the Heywood, Lancs sub district. Her mother was Ethel Smith who was a tenter in the card room (cotton spinning) 26 Ethel Street Royton. Margaret was registered for adoption on 18 May 1931 (registrar Walter Pearson) and was advertised for 2 years in the nursing post. Unfortunately all the documetns relating to her were lost in a fire (Simpson Hill?). She remembers a legal man coming to visit called Mr Abrahams and also an Uncle Arthur. Any info appreciated |
