Looking any info on Robert Smith (b 1870 Leith) - Joseph (Jock) Smith and Edward P Smith. Joseph possibly m Elizabeth (Lizzie) and they had 4 known children. Toss, Betty, Georgina & William (Willie). Toss & Betty ('Wee Toss & Wee Betty') - a song and dance act which played the variety Theatres (always dressed in Scottish kilts) throughout Scotland & England during the late 20's, 30's and early 40's. Known to have played the Sunderland Empire Theatre on Monday 22 July 1929 burlesque show called 'On the Move' Toss was known to have later performed in Manchester night clubs. Georgina m. Sidney (Sid) DOOLEY famous theatre/variety producer/comedian. William m. Margaret possibly moved to Australia from Dundee. Any information would be very much appreciated. |
