Hi Everyone, I'm looking for a Cooper family who were related to my grandfather, his name was Walter John Cooper, son of Frederick Cooper and a Florence Rivers, (living at 27, Bangor Street or Rangor Street, sub district of Kensington Town in the county of London) when he was born on 3rd July 1903. Frederick wasclassed as a handy man on his son's birth certificate, but the story goes he was a japanoner (painter of carriages/coaches) horsedrawn I would have thought. Walter joined the Light Battery of the Royal Artillary and remained in the R.A and came out as a Major. He was stationed in India at the time of his mother's death, but no one let him know she had died, which he was heart broken about for a long time. If any of this information rings a bell, please contact me. Thank you. Shirley Sime (Daughter of Thelma Lee nee Cooper) |
