I'm trying to find details of my uncle John FISHER whom I believe goes by the name of John SMITH, as given to him by his stepfather, also called John SMITH. He was born in Sydney, NSW in 1944 (give or take a year). His birth parents are Herca Jean MCNAMARA and Horace Albert FISHER, both of whom died in 1950. From what I understand John FISHER/SMITH went to live with his stepfather John (also known as Jack) SMITH in Riverwood, in Sydney, whilst his two sisters Margaret Ruth and Joan Dell were placed in a Sydney orphanage. My mother Margaret last saw her brother when he was about 15. Any help in locating this person or descendants would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, John |
