Hi, My family of Smiths originate from the Chelsea area in the 1840s to 1890s. They owned a family business of Undertakers during that time. Does anybody have any Smith Undertakers in the London area in their family. I have gone back as far as Anthony/Mark born c.1775 as an Undertaker, possible from the Bethnal Green area, then his son George Robert Smith in Chelsea c.1840. George Robert had four sons who could have possibly carried on the business. Have found some Smith Undertakers on the 1901 census in Fulham and Battersea. Don't yet know if there is a connection. Hope someone out there fits in with the above!!! Regards, Christine.
