Clark/Searle, Lewis John - I would really like to find out about a great, great uncle Lewis John Clark nee Searle. He was born as a Searle but his name was changed when his father married his mother. He was born 1876 in Froxfield, Hampshire and went to London and became a Police Constable in 1899 serving in the Woolwich area. He was dismissed in 1919 for taking part in the Police Strikes. He apparantly applied for a job at the London City Council in 1920. I would really like to know what happened to him after that. Did he marry, move back to Hampshire etc. Any info would be gratefully received. |
