I am trying to find my Grandfather, ALFRED SMITH, who I think lived in the Hackney area of London. I know he was in the Navy during the First World War. He had an affair with my Grandmother, Annie Elizabeth Bates, and my mother (also Annie Elizabeth) was subsequently born in July 1918. She was raised by my Great Grandmother, Hannah Worcester. I have photographs of Alfred and members of his family, but no other information. Do any of these names or events rattle skeltons in anyone else's cupboard? It would be great to hear from you if they do, but I'd feel a little more encouraged if he'd been called something other than Smith.... |
