Looking for information on the ancestors of John Moore, born somewhere in Scotland in 1804,died in the Earsdon district of Northumberland in 1872. I have heard that John was somehow involved, at the age of eleven, in the Battle of Waterloo. I know of at least one offspring, George Moore, who married Ellen Collier and had several children, one of them being my Grandfather William Moore. William was born in 1875 . At the time of the 1881 census the family lived in South View, Heaton, Newcastle upon Tyne. Any information on the family, and especially John, would be very much appreciated.
