Judith Day Nee Watson I am trying to trace members of my family. My Grandmother was an Annie Childlow who married a Joseph Dowley. He was killed in the first world war. She then married an Oscar Watson. He was a widower and I believe possibly had children from a previous marriage - Arthur John Watson d.o.b. c 1898 and Fred Neavers Watson d.o.b. c 1900. Together they had at least two sons Alec born 1920 and Roy born 1923. There may also have been an Anne and a Joan but not sure whether they may have belonged to her first husband and therefore be Dowley by name. There was also a Joseph Dowley junior who was killed in the second world war. Annie had a number of siblings, one I remember as Uncle Sam who was married to Auntie Emmie. The family originated in Staffordshire but at some point, I think in the early 1900's moved to Dinnington in South Yorkshire. If anybody has any information that may help I would love to hear from them. |
