Has anyone a Tamar Smith or a Charlotte Smith in their tree. Tamar was born c1868 in Great Dunmow, Essex and in 1891 was a cook domestic for a William and Annie Miall in Gravesend, Kent. Charlotte was born c1873 again in Great Dunmow and in 1891 was a general domestic servant for Herbert and Emily Thorndick in Great Dunmow although I think she may have moved to London later as she was a witness at my grandfather (her brother) Walter's wedding in 1899 in Edmonton. Tamar and Charlotte's parents were James (born 1843) and Emma (c1833, formerly Burton, nee Smith) both of Great Dunmow. Thanks |
