Find Ancestors

I am looking for the Phelps family from Basselleg in Wales. I have a William Phelps (b. 1801) in Basselleg and was married to Ann (b. 1807) in Lanensch in Monmouthshire in Wales. I would love to fine Ann's surname they had four children (that I know of) Eliza (married to Henry Evans), Fredrick (married to Martha Williams), Jane and John. All where born in Basselleg, except John who is listed as being born in St Brides. I believe William Phelps is the son of John Phelps and Sarah (she is possible born 1781 in Longley, Glos). The Phelps seem to have been farmers but later in the centery many of them became police officers.

my grandfather was called william phelps,and he came from a farming family,he was born in 1877 and came from somerset,did your family move to somerset,also someone in the family became a policeman,my grandfather had a brother called george and a sister we think was called maud but not sure,he married a nellie hill.dont know if it the same family or not,l am still trying to find member of the phelps family.
