Trying to find Smith

I am trying to trace any info on my granpa, David William Smith b 12 Nov 1888 Tipton Staffs s/o Thomas Samuel Smith and Phoebe Elizabeth Allport. He married Emily Mary Mitchell in Islington London on the 28 Sept 1917 and then went to live in Walsall Staffs.They had 5 children Maisie, Peggy, Dolly, Norman ( my father ) and Iris. After Iris was born, he went to Canada. Over the years they lost touch as it was reported he had gone ' Northwest ' ?? wherever that is ? I think the year he went was 1929. It has been reported that he stayed in Bowie Ave, Toronto, Keele St Toronto and Lavender Ave Toronto. Also had rooms in McGill St Toronto. If anyone can help with any info, I will be very grateful. Relatives over the years have tried to trace him with no luck. Regards Lynda |
