Trying to find Harris

Please could anyone help? My GGrandfather was a JOHN HENRY HARRIS born about 1875, he was a marine and married a Mary Elizabeth Pearce, when and where I can't discover, my Grandmother Margaret was born in Hackney in1915 but an education certificate I have shows John and Mary living in Sheffield but at different addresses, I cannot find any info in the census returns, I assume he was away during the 1901 census or that they moved all around the country my Grandmother was cared for by a family in Derbyshire for part of her childhood but with whom or why I do not know. Mary and John both died in Sheffield. Any guidance would be much appreciated as I am really stuck. |
