BARBARA CHAPMAN ALEXANDER (M ?) CHAPMAN Trying to find Alexander Chapman born 1875 / 1876 in the Parish of Pitlochry - in or near the town of Perth, County Perthshire, SCOTLAND. Served in the Scottish Highland Light Infantry for 12 years, and then came to Australia and joined the Naval and Military Expeditionary Force on the 12th November, 1914. This Force served in Rabaul, New Guinea until June 1917. Alexander (Sandy) was discharged from NMEF on 06/06/1917. He died in accidental circumstances 16/10/1917 at Port Macquarie, Northern New South Wales, Australia. He had tattoos on both forearms. The last known address of his mother Mrs G Chapman was 37 Polepark Road, DUNDEE, SCOTLAND, 10th September, 1918. Alexander had a son (also Alexander Chapman born on the 4th December, 1904) to Helen Smith (Jute Spinner) born at West Henderson's Wynd, Dundee. The younger Alexander came to Australia in August 1922 at age 18 years. If anyone has any information about both Alexanders or their family, it would be of great assistance. Many thanks, BARBARA |
