I am looking for more information about the life or family of Aster Olive Bell, born 18/06/1922 at Bank House (Barclays Bank) Biggleswade, Beds. Her parents were Arthur Downman Bell, the bank's cashier, and Martha Olive Bell (née Sonnicksen) who had married in September 1921 in West Ham, London. By January 1947, the 24 year-old Aster had become a children's nurse. She spent a brief spell in Torquay that month, when her given address was c/o Yonder Fowdon, Churston Ferrers, Totnes nr Brixham, Devon. Later, it appears she married Colin A. Mardon in the September quarter 1948, registered in Newton Abbot. Subsequently, Aster O. Mardon remarried in June quarter 1951 to Stanley Readman, again in Newton Abbot. It seems Aster may now have passed away; there is a record for an Aster Olive Readman in London in the March quarter of 1980, whose date of birth was given as 18/06/1922. If anyone knows more about what happened to Aster during her life, I would appreciate anyone making contact.
