Hello Sally, I belong to the Australian Meiklejohns who hailed from Thurs/Halkirk area in Caithness Scotland. U know of yours but when, why, how did they got to Nova Scotia....Scotland originally I guess but where from.? Hope your re-union is FANTASTIC.

ally Meiklejohn (21/10/2006 07:42:58) | Update Message | Delete Message I am looking for information on James Strange Meiklejohn/Mucklejohn, born in North Leith, 1807. (I have his Birth Cert) His parents were William Mucklejohn and Isabella Smith. (I have ordered the film, showing their marriage, from Family History Centre - LDS - not arrived yet) James married Catherine Mustard in 1831 at Pictou, Nova Scotia. James had at least one sister Isabella, and three brothers, William, James and Robert. I an hoping for more information on his brothers and sister plus more information on Catherine's family. We (their descendants) have a Reunion planned for 2008 to celebrate 150years in New Zealand. I believe we may have been mistakenly added into a Meiklejohn family tree in Australia of Australian Meiklejohns.. am hoping to establish this. Any information very welcome.
